| Trainee Social Events are usually organised by the Trainee Social Rep and any other trainees who wish to get involved. These events are not exclusively for trainees and a lot of other members of the firm attend as well which is a great way for trainees to get to know more people throughout the firm.
Activities range from the weekly Friday socials which are a great way to relax and catch up after a hard week at work to more one-off outings such as bowling, cinema and theatre trips, meals out and the occasional pub crawl.
Recent events have included a "Curry Night" in March followed by an Easter Meal and in April we went to the Glee Club for dinner and a night of comedy. Future events in the pipeline include a Bingo evening and a night at "The Dogs". There is no shortage of events that can be organised and there will always be people up for a good night out.
The firm also have an active Social Committee which organises firm-wide social events . These tend to be bigger occasions and are therefore a little less frequent, although definitely as much fun. The Social Committee is made up of representatives from across the firm and trainees are encouraged to particpate and become involved in helping to organise events. The most recent event was a pub quiz in March which was received with great enthusiasm. The main event is typically the Winter Party which this year had everyone dressed up as part of an "Old Hollywood Glamour" theme - think Rat Pack and Audrey Hepburn!!

The firm also plays an active role in supporting the Birmingham Trainee Solicitors' Society (BTSS) and its social events. There are regular events which are always enjoyable and provide a useful way of meeting trainees from the other Birmingham firms. The highlight of the year is the Annual Dinner which is always entertaining and the firm covers the cost of the trainees attending. There is also typically a Summer Ball as well as many other social and cultural activities.
There is certainly no shortage of opportunities for trainees to socialise both within and outside the firm and there will always be something to suit everyone's taste. |
