The assessment days are very structured. Candidates are scored throughout the time they are at Martineau on a number of competencies. The competencies are skills which we feel you will need to be a solicitor in a commercial firm.

We look at how candidates have demonstrated these competencies in a variety of situations and score them accordingly.

Very simply, the scores are added up and a decision is made, usually on the day of the assessment centre, if not very soon after, as to whether the candidate will be offered a training contract.
